공포영화는 정말 저의 취향이 아닙니다ㅠ
Horror movies are really not my taste.
반전이 매력적인 서스펜스까지는 용납합니다.
I accept the suspense movies that have an attractive twist.
하지만 무서운 귀신 영화나 사람을 마구 찌르고 자르는 하드코어 영화는 보고 싶지 않아요.
But I don't want to watch scary ghost movies or hardcore movies that stab and cut people.
지금까지 전적으로 타인의 선택으로 극장에서 공포영화를 몇 번 본적은 있습니다.
So far, I have seen several horror movies at the theater at the choice of others.
미국판 링, 식스센스, 사바하 정도?
The American version of Ring, Sixth Sense, Six fingers?
그럴때마다 극장 좌석 속에 파묻혀서 얼굴 전체를 감싸고 영화본다는 건 비밀입니다.
It's a secret that I'm buried in the seats of the theater and watch a movie with my entire face covered.
그래서 사실, 이 영화는 본 적이 없어요.
So in fact, I've never watched this movie.
정확히 얘기하면 아주 인상적인 장소에서 단지 몇 장면을 보게 되었습니다.
To be exact, I watched only a few scenes in a very impressive place.
국민학교 고학년 무렵으로 기억하는데요.
I remember it was when I was in the senior year of Elementary school.
당시 동네의 작은 개척교회를 다니고 있었어요.
I was attending a small pioneering church in my neighborhood at the time.
중학생 교회형이 교회 아이들을 모아서 롤러장에 데려간겁니다.
The middle school church brother gathered the church children and took them to the roller rink.
사실 롤러장이라는데가 어린 아이들이 갈 만한 곳은 아니었죠.
In fact, roller skating rink was not a place for young children.
소위 동네나 학교에서 조금 놀아본 형님, 누나들의 사교장소(?) 같은 곳이었으니까요.
It was like a social place for bad boys and girls in the neighborhood or school.
처음 그 느낌을 잊을 수 없네요.
I can't forget the first feeling.
고막이 찢어져라 틀어놓은 빠른 비트의 음악과 벽면에 가득한 난해한 형광 그림들...
(그런걸 그래피티라고 하나요?)
Loud and fast beat music and esoteric fluorescent paintings full of walls...

중앙에는 디제이가 있고 그 밖으로 안쪽과 바깥쪽으로 나뉘어 큰 타원형의 공간에서 청자켓의 형님과 누님들이 손잡고 신나게 롤러를 탑니다.
In a large oval rink with a DJ at the center and divided into the inside and outside, boys in jeans and girls in age-unfit make-up were holding hands and roller-skating.
안쪽 원은 상급자코스고 바깥쪽 원은 초급자코스였죠.
The inner circle was the senior course and the outer circle was the beginner course.
분위기파악 못하고 누군가가 느릿느릿 안쪽에서 돌고 있으면, 빠른 속도로 뒤로타기 스킬을 보여주는 형님들이 욕을 바가지로 하고 지나가곤 했죠.
When someone was spinning slowly from the inside, the boys, who showed their fast back riding skills, would curse and pass by.
그리고 또 하나 기억나는건 브라운관 TV가 달린 기둥이 여러개 있었어요.
And the other thing I remember is, there were several columns with TV monitors.
그리고 TV에서는 소리가 안들리게 영화가 틀어져 있었죠.
And the movie was on the TV without sound.
저는 잘 타지 못하니까 엉금엉금 기다가 걷다가 넘어지다가 거의 벽쪽 의자에 앉아있었거든요.
I could't ride it well, so I was walking and fell, and I was almost sitting on a wall chair.
그래서 자연스럽게 그 브라운관을 보게 됐죠.
So I naturally watched the movie.
그게 이 영화였어요, 이블데드...
That's it, EVELDEAD!
어느 외딴 별장에서 귀신인지 괴물인지모를 것들과 싸우는거 같은데 머리가 잘리고, 팔다리가 떨어져나가고...
It seemed like the main character is fighting with things like a ghost or a monster in a remote villa, someone's head is cut off, their arms and legs are falling apart.
어린 나이에 너무나 큰 충격이었어요!
It was such a shock at a young kid!
롤러장과는 어울리지 않는 하드코어 영화를 틀어놓다니 왜 그랬을까요?
Why did they play a hardcore movie that didn't go well with the roller rink?
무서운 영화와 빠르고 시끄러운 음악과 롤러의 조합이라니...
A combination of scary movies and fast, loud music and rollers...
성인이 되어서 그 때 그 영화가 이블데드라는 걸 알게 되었어요.
When I became an adult, I realized that the movie was EVELDEAD.
그리고 주변에서 이런 영화를 좋아라하는 친구들에게서 추천도 받았고요.
And I got recommendations from friends who like movies like this.
그래도 저는 아직도 못보겠습니다ㅠㅠ
But I still can't watch it.
