미안한 말이지만 한국 영화는 극장에서 잘 안봅니다.
I'm sorry, but I don't watch Korean movies in theaters.
극장에서 보는 영화는 당연 헐리우드 영화라는 생각, 한국영화는 명절때 텔레비전으로 보는 영화라는 생각을 늘 하고 있었죠.
I always thought that watching movies in theaters is a Hollywood movie, and that watching Korean movies on TV during holidays.
아직도 이런 편견이 없는건 아니지만 그런 편견에 대해서 다시 생각하게 해 준 우리나라 영화가 있다면 단연 이 영화, "접속"일 겁니다.
I still have some of these prejudices, but if there's a Korean movie that made me think about them again, it's definitely this movie, "CONTACT".
짧은 소견으로 볼 때 한국영화는 접속 이전과 이후로 나눠야하지 않을까 생각할 정도죠.
From my point of view, I think Korean movies should be divided before and after this moive.

I remember exactly when I watched this movie in the theater.
1997년 9월 28일.
September 28th., 1997
군대에서 휴가를 나와 친구들과 함께 이 영화를 보게 됐어요.
I went on vacation in the army and watched this movie with my friends.
특히나 그날은 훗날 도쿄대첩이라고 불리는 전설적인 한일 국가대표 축구경기가 있던 날이거든요.
Especially on that day, there was a legendary Korea-Japan national soccer match called the "Tokyo Battle".
우리나라가 도쿄로 원정을 갔는데 경기 막바지에 이민성의 기가막힌 중거리 슛으로 2대 1, 통쾌한 역전승을 했습니다.
Our country went on an expedition to Tokyo, and at the end of the game, Lee Min-sung's amazing mid-range shot made a 2-1 come-from-behind victory.
그 감동과 흥분을 안고 영화를 봤기 때문에 소위 국뽕으로 인해 좀 더 후한 점수를 준걸까요?
Because I watched the movie with that emotion and excitement, did the so-called Gukppong give this movie a more generous score?
그건 아닌거 같습니다.

이 영화는 그 이전 한국영화과는 다른 차이점들이 있었어요.
There were differences between this movie and the previous Korean movie.
탄탄한 스토리와 너무나 잘 어울리는 음악들, 그리고 배우들의 과장없이 연기... 이러한 요소들이 이 영화를 단연 돋보이게 만들지 않았을까 생각해봅니다.
The solid story, the music that goes so well with it, and the actors' acting without exaggeration... I think these factors definitely made this movie stand out.
피카디리 극장앞 광장에서 두 주인공이 만나던 클라이막스와 그 때 흘러나오던 "Lover's Concerto"를 잊을 수가 없네요ㅎ
I can't forget the climax scene that the two main characters met in front of Piccadilly Theater and the "Lover's Concerto" that came out.
이때부터 우리나라 영화의 르네상스가 시작됐다고 얘기하면 동의하는 사람들이 꽤나 있을 겁니다.
If I say that the renaissance of Korean movies has begun since then, there will be quite a few people who agree.
한국 영화도 극장에서 봐아만 하는 이유가 생겨서 정말 감사할 때름입니다.
Thank you for making me realize that Korean movies are worth watching in theaters.
